Placements24 is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to lead environmental compliance and management for mining operations near Stellenbosch. You will ensure adherence to environmental regulations and develop management plans to mitigate impacts while liaising with regulators and stakeholders.

This role requires a strong background in EIAs/EMPs, site audits, and environmental monitoring programs, plus excellent report writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in environmental management, with mining sector emphasis.
• In-depth knowledge of South African environmental legislation and permitting processes.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Senior Environmental Scientist to lead environmental compliance and management efforts for their operations near Stellenbosch . This critical role involves ensuring adherence to all environmental regulations, developing and implementing environmental management plans, and mitigating the environmental impact of mining activities. You will liaise with regulatory bodies, internal teams, and external stakeholders to promote sustainable mining practices. Key Responsibilities
