Placements24 is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist for Soweto, Gauteng to drive environmental compliance and sustainability in our mining client’s operations. You will develop and oversee EMPs, conduct EIAs, monitor performance, and collaborate with site teams.

The ideal candidate has an MSc in Environmental Science, at least six years in mining, deep knowledge of NEMA and MPRDA, and strong communication and project management skills to lead rehabilitation and closure planning.

Qualifications

• MSc or equivalent in Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive environmental management experience in mining.
• In-depth knowledge of SA environmental legislation (NEMA, MPRDA) and mining regs.
• Experience conducting EIAs and managing EMPs.
• Experience in mine rehabilitation and closure planning.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
