Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mining Environmental Scientist for on-site work in Port Elizabeth to ensure mining operations comply with environmental regulations and sustainable practices.

You will conduct EIAs, monitor environmental performance, develop mitigation strategies, and manage waste, water, and land resources throughout the mining lifecycle, liaising with regulators and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management, with a focus on mining or heavy industry.
• In-depth knowledge of South African environmental legislation and regulations pertinent to mining.
• Experience with environmental monitoring techniques and data analysis.
• Strong report writing and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with regulatory bodies.
