Placements24 is seeking a Senior Employee Relations Specialist in Vereeniging, Gauteng, to foster a positive work environment by managing employee relations issues, ensuring fair policy application, and promoting constructive dialogue between staff and management.

The role requires SA labour law knowledge, strong conflict resolution, and the ability to deliver training, investigations, disciplinary hearings, and retrenchment guidance, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Degree in HR, Law or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in employee relations or industrial relations.
• In-depth knowledge of SA labour law (LRA, BCEA, EEA) and CCMA procedures.
• Experience in investigations, disciplinary hearings, and grievance procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to remain impartial and objective in sensitive situations.
• Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite.
• Experience in developing and delivering training is advantageous.
• Hybrid work readiness; based in or able to commute to Vereeniging.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve grievances and disputes promptly.
• Provide guidance to managers and employees on ER matters.
• Ensure compliance with SA labour laws and policies.
• Develop and deliver ER training programs.
• Conduct disciplinary hearings and investigations with fair process.
• Advise on retrenchment processes and legal compliance.
• Monitor morale and identify areas of concern.
• Contribute to HR policy development and refinement.
• Promote positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Collaborate with other HR functions to support goals.
