Job summary

Anna-Mart le Roux Stellenbosch is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer with at least 5 years' embedded hardware design and IoT product development experience. The role covers end-to-end ownership from concept through production and lifecycle support, ensuring designs meet reliability, cost, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will draft and maintain specifications, lead schematic/PCB design, qualify components, and ensure ISO9001, EMC/EMI/Safety compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years embedded hardware experience.
• IoT product development experience is advantageous.
• Strong background in digital design, ICT, and RF/EMC knowledge.
• Proactive, detail-oriented with customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware, schematic, and PCB design from concept to prototype.
• Oversee component selection and qualification.
• Ensure designs comply with ISO9001, EMC/EMI and safety standards.
• Collaborate with software and solutions teams to integrate hardware with back-end systems.
• Maintain hardware lifecycle from prototype to production and support.
