Job summary

Scatec in Ceres, Western Cape, seeks a Senior Electrician to perform high‑voltage electrical work, maintenance, and repairs on solar PV and BESS equipment. You will switch, isolate, earthen, and handle LOTO per authorisation, while mentoring junior staff and ensuring safe, reliable plant operation.

Qualified electricians with ORHVS and SANS 10142 registration are preferred, with 5+ years of experience in AC/DC systems and HV switching.

Qualifications

• Proven MV & HV equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance.
• Experience with BESS and PV plant electrical systems preferred.
• Supervise and train junior personnel in electrical duties.
• Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform modification, troubleshooting, repair testing and maintenance of all facility electrical equipment, systems and network communication.
• Execute switching, isolation, safety testing, earthing, and LOTO activities in line with authorisation levels.
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on BESS, PV systems and related equipment.
• Prepare and review maintenance documentation; update CMMS logs.
