The successful candidate will oversee design, feasibility, construction and commissioning, ensuring safety, quality and schedules are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project engineering within infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems in transportation, utilities, or power distribution.
• Proven project management experience with budget and schedule control.
• Experience with electrical design software and project management tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment balancing office and remote duties.
• PE/Pr Eng or ECSA registration is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical design and engineering for infrastructure projects (transportation networks, utilities, public facilities).
• Develop project scopes, specifications, and tender documents for electrical works.
• Manage electrical consultants and contractors through the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with national and international electrical standards.
• Review and approve designs, drawings, and methods.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

About the Role Our client, a leading consultancy firm specializing in major infrastructure projects, is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to contribute to significant developments in and around Pretoria, Gauteng . This role involves managing the electrical engineering aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects, from initial design and feasibility studies through to construction and commissioning. You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems meet stringent quality, safety, and performance standards, while also adhering to project timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in managing complex electrical projects and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
