Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Instrumentation Engineer in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role focuses on designing, installing, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems across process facilities. Hybrid work enables remote design and on-site commissioning.

The candidate will lead Siemens/Allen-Bradley PLC, DCS, and SCADA environments, perform SIL analyses, and guide junior engineers while coordinating with operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control Engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify electrical systems and instrumentation for process control applications.
• Select sensors, transmitters, valves, and analytical instruments.
• Develop P&ID diagrams, loop diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Oversee installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and electrical issues on the plant floor.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Ensure safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., SIL assessments) are met.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize process performance.
• Mentor junior instrumentation engineers and technicians.
