Job summary

Placements24 represents our client in Kimberley seeking a highly competent Senior Electrical Engineering Technician for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex electrical systems on site. The role emphasizes safety, diagnostics, and support for engineering projects in industrial environments.

The successful candidate will interpret schematics, work with low-voltage systems and motor controls, and travel within the Northern Cape as required.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 6 years as Electrical Engineering Technician in industrial/mining environments.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Hands-on with low-voltage systems, motor controls and instrumentation.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Kimberley region.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment including power distribution, control panels and instrumentation.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot faults to identify root causes and fix them.
• Interpret schematics, blueprints and manuals to guide installation and repair work.
• Assist engineers in design, development and testing of new systems and prototypes.
• Ensure safety regulations, codes and company policies are followed at all times.
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and site personnel.
