Qualifications

• 6+ years in industrial electrical engineering and automation.
• Proven PLC programming with Siemens/Allen-Bradley and HMI development.
• Knowledge of Profibus, Ethernet/IP; ISO 13849 is advantageous.
• Hybrid role requiring on-site work in Vereeniging and remote support.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications.
• Specify and select electrical components, including motors, drives, sensors, and control devices.
• Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and develop user-friendly HMI interfaces.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation issues on the production floor, minimizing downtime.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of new automation systems and modifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, production staff, and project managers.
• Develop and maintain electrical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and operating manuals.

Requirements

• B.Eng or B.Sc in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering and automation.
• Proven experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley preferred), HMI development, and VFD configuration.
• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience with robotic systems is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, comfortable working in a hybrid environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849) is advantageous.
