Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial automation, including PLC, HMI, VFD, and servo systems.


• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD software.


• Specify electrical components, sensors, actuators, and control hardware.


• Implement and troubleshoot control logic for automated processes.


• Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes, industry standards (e.g., IEC, SANS), and safety regulations.


• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and production teams to integrate automation solutions.


• Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and support site commissioning activities.


• Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations personnel.


• Research and evaluate new automation technologies to improve system performance and efficiency.


• Manage project documentation, including design files, test procedures, and user manuals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.


• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a strong focus on industrial automation.


• Proven experience with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI development, and SCADA systems.


• Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
