Job summary

Recruitpro Solutions in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of HV substations and overhead lines up to 765kV for diverse renewables, distribution, and transmission projects.

You will oversee engineering deliverables, mentor juniors, support FAT/SAT, and contribute to tenders and business development, with travel within SA and abroad. Requires ECSA Professional Engineer and 7–10 years’ experience.

Qualifications

Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
7–10 years in design, management and execution of distribution substations and OHLs up to 132kV.
Experience with HV power distribution and transmission substations.
Proficiency with primary plant equipment technology and specifications.

Responsibilities

Planning and design of HV substations and OHLs (33kV–765kV).
Leading engineering deliverables: layouts, drawings, equipment selection, specifications and calculations.
Developing and approving design documentation, BOQs and technical specs.
Technically leading junior engineers, drafters and designers.
Supporting FAT/SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning and site queries.
Preparing EOIs, tenders and RFQs, and contributing to business development.
