Job summary

Mindworx Consulting and Academy in Cape Town seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to drive site supervision, power distribution, and energization across major petroleum terminal facilities.

The role covers high-hazard substations, HV/LV switchgear, Ex equipment, and end-to-end commissioning from installation to energization, requiring strong IEC/IEEE, NFPA, API, and SANS standards knowledge and a proven EPC project background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 8–12 years of experience in oil & gas, terminal, refinery, or petrochemical environments.
• Deep knowledge of substations, transformers, MV/LV switchgear, MCCs and distribution boards.
• Experience with site testing, pre-commissioning, protection relay testing, and energization.

Responsibilities

• Direct field inspection, switchgear inspection and energization alongside operations.
• Audit contractor method statements, single-line diagrams (SLDs) and ITPs to ensure conformance.
• Coordinate interfaces between electrical power, I&C, mechanical rotating equipment and civil assets.
