Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Electrical Design Engineer focused on building services to join our remote team. You will conceptualize and develop electrical systems for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings, ensuring compliance with SANS 10142 and energy efficiency standards.

Work alongside architects and project managers in a distributed, Pretoria-based region, using Revit MEP and AutoCAD to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable designs with strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/BSc).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical building services design.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD for electrical design.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and energy efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design drawings and specifications for power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and low-voltage systems in buildings.
• Perform load calculations, lighting design, and single-line diagrams using industry-standard software.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS 10142, local regulations, and green building standards.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, and mechanical disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
• Prepare bills of quantities and assist in the tender evaluation process.
• Conduct site visits for design verification and support during the construction phase, as required, even in a remote capacity context.

This role is crucial for conceptualizing and developing electrical systems for a diverse range of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical designs meet stringent building codes, energy efficiency standards, and client requirements, contributing to the creation of safe, functional, and sustainable built environments. Operating from a remote capacity, you will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines across Pretoria and beyond, leveraging digital tools to deliver high-quality electrical engineering solutions.
