thyssenkrupp Uhde South Africa seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering Department. The role involves leading design activity, client liaison, and project execution across feasibility to commissioning for LPG and petrochemical facilities.

The candidate should have a BSc./B.Eng. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 10 years’ experience (15+ preferred), and professional ECSA registration. LPG/cryo experience and commissioning exposure are highly valued.

Qualificações

• BSc./B.Eng. Electrical/ Electronic Engineering degree with 10 years engineering experience (15+ years preferred).
• Experience in contracting on energy and chemical/petrochemical projects.
• Professional Registration with ECSA is required.
• Experience with commissioning and plant start-up.
• Strong LPG, refrigerated LPG, cryogenic storage, terminal, marine, EPC and brownfields experience.

Responsabilidades

Your responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with relevant design house experience to join the Electrical Engineering Department.

The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the following job description but not limited to:

• Interaction with the client and forming part of an owner’s team with the client
• Performing lead engineer role.
• Lead or participate in PFD and P&ID Reviews, HAZOP and SIL reviews, 3D model and constructability reviews
• Lead Hazardous Area Classification Reviews
• Perform manpower planning and project schedule management for the project process team
• Preparation of Scope of Work / Works Information for supply of services and management of consultants to deliver to scope, quality and schedule.
• Execute projects within schedule and budget
• General electrical design activities/ deliverables
• Network studies and protection grading studies.
• Detail medium and low voltage substation design, including equipment specification and selection.

The scope of this role will require the incumbent to work in a projects based environment covering all phases of project execution (feasibility, concept, basic, detail, construction support and commissioning).

The individual will engage in electrical design activities related to producing and checking electrical engineering deliverables.

The individual will be responsible for electrical deliverables and quality/ technical quality assurance on the project.

Your profile

• The successful candidate must be in possession of a BSc./ B.Eng. Electrical/ Electronic Engineering degree with 10 years engineering experience. 15+ years of experience is preferable.
• Experience in contracting environment working on projects in the energy and chemical/ refining / petrochemical industries is required.
• Lead Engineer Experience
• Professional Registration with ECSA is required.
• The candidate must have participated in commissioning and plant start-up.
• The candidate must have refrigerated LPG, cryogenic storage, terminal, marine, EPC and brownfields experience. Strong LPG experience is essential.
• Experience with relevant codes for LPG facilities.
• Experience with IEC/SANS 60079 series for explosive atmospheres, hazardous area classification, equipment and inspection.
