Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical building services design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Pr. Eng. or ECSA registration (or eligibility) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for building services projects, including lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, fire alarm systems, and earthing.
• Develop detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and schedules using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Perform load calculations, lighting designs, and circuit protection studies.
• Ensure compliance with SANS codes, NHBRC standards, and other relevant building regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into building designs.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to ensure adherence to design specifications and resolve site queries.
• Review shop drawings and submittals from contractors and suppliers.
• Manage project timelines and assist in preparing fee proposals and tender documents.
• Mentor junior electrical engineers and technicians.
