Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Senior Childminder & Early Learning Facilitator for our childcare center in Klerksdorp, North West. You will mentor junior staff and lead pedagogical practices to create a rich, age-appropriate learning environment for children aged 0–5.

You will plan activities, observe progress, and collaborate with parents while upholding high standards of child development and safety. A strong background in early childhood education and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field (e.g., NQF Level 5+)
• Experience with 0–5 years in a childcare setting
• Strong knowledge of child development theories and pedagogical strategies
• Ability to mentor colleagues and lead educational activities

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and supervision for a group of young children, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate stimulating and age-appropriate learning activities across developmental domains.
• Observe children's progress, document observations, and communicate with parents and colleagues.
• Mentor and support less experienced childcare staff, sharing best practices and expertise.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Foster positive social-emotional development and encourage independence in children.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and guardians.
• Contribute to the center's educational philosophy and curriculum development.
• Manage classroom resources and ensure availability of learning materials.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education trends.
