Job summary

Mayfly Agri is seeking an experienced e‑commerce leader to drive online sales and optimise the digital customer journey across desktop and mobile. You will own product catalog management, integrate with logistics partners and manage marketing campaigns to grow online revenue.

The role requires 5+ years in e‑commerce leadership within agriculture/retail sectors, strong analytical skills and proficiency with SEO/SEM, pay-per-click, email marketing and conversion optimisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, E‑Commerce, IT, Information Systems or related field
• 5+ years’ e-commerce leadership experience in agricultural, retail, hardware, FMCG or multi-branch trading environments
• Experience leading complex e-commerce migrations or bespoke software implementations
• Experience managing third-party logistics integration, courier API connections and automated dispatch workflows
• Experience managing digital advertising budgets with measurable ROI
• Knowledge of ECTA, POPIA, OHSA, BCEA and Cybercrimes Act
• Familiarity with CPA, consumer legislation and regulatory compliance
• Understanding of customer journey mapping, mobile responsiveness, site speed optimisation and digital UX
• Proficiency in e-commerce platform layout, catalogue structure, checkout flows and payment gateway integrations
• Exposure to SEO, SEM, PPC, social media advertising and lifecycle email marketing
• Strong analytical and numerical reasoning with attention to detail
• Creative problem-solving and adaptability to emerging digital tools
• Effective time management and ability to work under pressure
• Vendor and external agency management with cross‑department collaboration
• Fluent Afrikaans and English written and verbal communication
• Valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and optimise the e‑commerce website for high availability and secure trading
• Own end‑to‑end product catalogue management across online channels
• Plan, execute and evaluate digital marketing strategies to drive targeted traffic and high‑value customer acquisition
• Manage digital advertising budgets and improve ROI
• Deliver a frictionless digital customer journey across desktop and mobile including checkout and delivery experiences
• Coordinate with retail branches, warehouse and logistics teams for accurate order fulfilment
• Oversee third‑party logistics, courier API connections and dispatch workflows for nationwide delivery
• Align online inventory with multi‑branch operations and fulfilment rules
• Analyse platform sales, conversion metrics and channel profitability for strategic decisions
• Collaborate with merchandising, retail, finance, IT and marketing to grow online sales
