Placements24 is seeking a Lead Drilling Operations Supervisor to manage daily drilling activities on sites around Benoni. The role demands hands-on leadership to ensure safe, efficient drilling in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.

You will supervise crews, monitor rigs, and resolve issues in real time across the Gauteng region. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in drilling operations, with at least 3 in supervision, and strong knowledge of well control and emergency

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in drilling operations preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in drilling operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Proven experience with various drilling rig types and associated equipment; strong knowledge of well control and emergency response protocols.

Responsibilities

• Supervise drilling crews, rig personnel, and service providers on the drill floor.
• Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures during drilling operations.
• Monitor drilling parameters, equipment performance, and progress; adjust as needed.
• Manage inventory of drilling supplies and equipment for readiness.
• Lead daily safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safe work practices.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a results-oriented Lead Drilling Operations Supervisor to manage and direct daily drilling activities at their sites in Benoni . This role requires hands-on leadership to ensure all drilling operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for supervising drilling crews, monitoring rig operations, and resolving operational challenges in real-time. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in field drilling operations and a strong understanding of HSE protocols within the oil and gas industry . This is a critical field-based role ensuring the successful execution of drilling campaigns in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of drilling crews, rig personnel, and service providers on the drill floor.
