Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Drilling Engineer to join a fully remote team supporting projects in Vereeniging and beyond. You will design and optimize drilling programs, ensuring safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness from a remote location.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering and at least 9 years of progressive drilling experience, with onshore/offshore exposure.

• 9+ years of progressive drilling engineering experience, with onshore or offshore work.
• Ability to manage drilling operations remotely with strong planning and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in drilling mechanics, well control, directional drilling, and completion technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed drilling plans, including wellbore design, casing programs, and directional drilling strategies.
• Provide remote technical oversight and guidance to drilling operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
• Monitor drilling progress, analyze operational data, and implement remote solutions for efficiency improvements.
• Manage drilling contractors and service providers remotely, ensuring quality and compliance with contracts.
• Conduct post-drill analysis and debriefings, documenting lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate effectively with geoscientists and production engineers in a virtual team setting.
