Alvarez & Marsal is recruiting a Director in Johannesburg, SA to lead ORM/ERM engagements, design enterprise risk frameworks, and drive risk governance with boards and executives. You will mentor teams, shape risk taxonomy, KRIs, controls, and reports, while building client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, risk management, engineering, or related major.
• 10+ years of proven experience across operational and enterprise risk management, gained in the first or second line, in internal audit, or in consulting.
• Track record of owning enterprise-wide risk frameworks end to end — taxonomy, registers, appetite, KRIs, control libraries and board reporting.
• Deep experience of operational risk disciplines — RCSA, control design and effectiveness testing, loss and event data, scenario analysis and remediation.
• Experience advising on operational resilience, business continuity and third party risk.

Responsabilités

• Lead the execution of complex ORM and ERM work fronts with expertise, identifying improvement initiatives and engaging with the client in all engagement phases.
• Own the design and implementation of integrated risk frameworks connecting enterprise risks to an operational risk taxonomy, control libraries and risk registers.
• Lead and develop board and executive risk discussions, including risk appetite setting and escalation protocols.
• Provide senior oversight across risk programs, control testing, event data, scenario analysis and remediation.
