Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a leading automotive service center in Benoni, Gauteng, to recruit an Automotive Diesel Mechanic. You will diagnose, repair and service diesel engines across trucks, buses and vans, using modern diagnostic tools.

The role requires a recognized trade qualification, at least five years of diesel experience, and the ability to read technical manuals. A valid driver's license is essential for this busy workshop.

Qualifications

• Recognized trade qualification as Automotive Diesel Mechanic.
• Minimum 5 years diesel engine repair/maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in diagnosing common diesel engine issues (injector/turbo/DPF).
• Experience with major diesel engine manufacturers and diagnostic software.
• Strong understanding of diesel mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, fuel systems, emissions, and related components.
• Routine maintenance: oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication.
• Repair/overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, differentials.
• Service and repair braking, suspension, steering systems.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools/software to identify issues.
