About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering to join their innovative team in Richards Bay . This role requires a creative and technically adept individual responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing new mechanical products and systems. You will be at the forefront of product innovation, translating market needs and technical requirements into functional, reliable, and cost-effective designs. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies from concept to production release.
• Perform detailed engineering analysis, including FEA and CFD , to validate design performance and reliability.
• Create and maintain comprehensive 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for producibility and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of materials selection, manufacturing processes (machining, molding, fabrication), and GD&T.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Experience working in a hybrid or flexible work environment is advantageous.
