Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Delivery Driver in Gauteng/Midrand to operate commercial vehicles, manage routes, and uphold service and safety standards. The role combines field deliveries with remote administrative tasks in a hybrid setup.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of professional driving experience, a valid PDP with a clean record, strong navigation skills in Gauteng, and excellent customer service abilities.

Qualifications

• Valid PDP required and clean driving record.
• Minimum 5 years as a professional driver in logistics/delivery.
• Good knowledge of Gauteng, especially Midrand area.
• Strong road safety and defensive driving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for customers.
• Able to manage time and work independently.
• Physical fitness to lift up to 25 kg.
• Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with GPS and delivery software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and accurate goods to customer locations in Midrand, Gauteng and surrounding regions.
• Drive company vehicles safely, complying with traffic laws and policies.
• Plan and optimize daily delivery routes for efficiency.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections; report issues promptly.
• Provide professional customer service during deliveries.
• Maintain delivery records and proof of delivery.
• Assist with loading/unloading as required.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
• Coordinate with logistics team to address challenges and improve workflows.
