Job summary

Psybergate (Pty) Ltd is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to design, deploy, and monitor machine learning models using Databricks and MLflow. You will build scalable feature pipelines, govern enterprise features, and collaborate with ML engineers to Productionise models across platforms.

Qualifications

• A quantitative degree in CS, DS, engineering or a related field.
• Master's or Doctorate is advantageous.
• Strong experience designing and deploying ML models with Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, train, and optimise ML models with Databricks and distributed computing.
• Develop customer propensity, next-best-action, and retention models.
• Build reusable feature pipelines and manage enterprise features.
• Define feature definitions, quality controls, and monitoring.
• Feature engineering, selection, and importance analysis.
• Develop optimisation and decisioning models for engagement and recommendations.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, statistics, and model validation.
• Model tuning, calibration, and benchmarking.
• Monitor model performance, stability, drift, and outcomes.
• Collaborate to productionise models and features.
• Produce model documentation and governance artefacts.
• Translate business challenges into actionable analytics and recommendations.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to standards.
