Amazon Data Services South Africa (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town seeks a Data Center Engineering Operations leader to act as Senior Chief Engineer and support the DCEO Cluster Manager. You will guide a regional team of facility managers and chief engineers, ensuring top-tier electrical and mechanical data center performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience carrying new design concepts from exploration to deployment.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Set and maintain a world-class safety culture for data center operations.
• Lead and coach a team of facility management staff and managers.
• Oversee maintenance of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure including UPS, Switchgear, ATS, generators, chillers, HVAC, VFDs and transformers.
• Plan and manage incident response, drills, and post-event reporting.
