Job summary

QE Services IT Recruitment represents a Cape Town–based client recruiting a Senior Data & Business Analyst on a contract basis. You will own policy data migration end-to-end, translate underwriting specifications into mappings, and ensure data quality across source systems, JSON payloads and PolicyCenter.

Collaborating with Appian developers, integration teams and external vendors, you will validate data, resolve defects and support RPA readiness.

Qualifications

Job description

My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Senior Data & Business Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.

IT / FINANCE

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of policy data throughout the migration journey, ensuring accurate schema and data alignment between source systems, JSON payloads, migration platforms and PolicyCenter.
• Interpret complex Underwriting Specifications and translate policy schedules, endorsements and validation rules into detailed technical mapping matrices and JSON schemas.
• Liaise with Binder Holders, broker technical teams, third-party vendors and internal integration teams to resolve data mapping issues and data-quality bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Appian developers on the Migration Process Control Platform (CPR), including validation, error-triage dashboards and exception reporting.
• Ensure data is fully compliant and ready for RPA ingestion into PolicyCenter, including format validation and referential integrity.
• Perform end-to-end reconciliation and QA across Mainframe extracts, JSON payloads, CPR staging and PolicyCenter records.
• Manage rejected records, defects, exceptions and root-cause analysis throughout the migration process.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong understanding of Short-Term Insurance, including policy data, policy schedules, endorsements, product structures and insurance business rules.
• Proven experience working within complex integration environments, involving multiple source systems, APIs/interfaces, external partners, staging platforms and downstream insurance systems.
• Experience in data migration testing, reconciliation, data-quality remediation, defect management and migration readiness.
• Demonstrated experience working with large and complex datasets, identifying data anomalies and resolving data-quality issues.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary programme and delivery teams.
• Experience with Appian, PolicyCenter, OBOE, RPA or comparable insurance technology platforms would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Agile software development environments.
• Some knowledge as a Generalist or Specialist within the Short-Term Insurance industry.
• Must have clear criminal and credit records.
