Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Senior Data Analyst to join a remote mining operations team. You will harness large datasets from exploration, production, and processing to drive data-informed decisions, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.

You will develop predictive models, create dashboards (Power BI/Tableau), and collaborate with operations, geology, and finance to define KPIs and deliver actionable insights across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field (data science, statistics, CS, mining engineering).
• 7+ years of experience in data analysis with operations focus.
• Proficient in Python or R, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from geological surveys, production, and costs.
• Develop predictive models to forecast outcomes and optimize resource allocation.
• Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with operations, geology, and finance to understand data needs.
• Define KPIs and metrics to track mining efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated on new data analysis techniques for mining.
