Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to join our security team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations across South Africa, including Mahikeng. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing advanced security measures to protect digital assets.

You will lead threat detection, incident response, and continuous improvement of security protocols, working independently and with virtual collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field; advanced certs (CISSP, CISM, GIAC) desirable.
• 7+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with proven program design and management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and management of enterprise security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP).
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures for compliance and data protection.
• Conduct in-depth risk assessments and vulnerability analyses with actionable recommendations.
• Manage incident response activities including investigation, containment, eradiation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.
