Placements24 is seeking a proactive Lead Cybersecurity Analyst to head the security analysis efforts in Vereeniging. You will oversee detection, analysis, and response to cyber threats, and lead a team of analysts while mentoring junior staff.

You will contribute to strategic development of security monitoring and incident response capabilities, fostering a strong security culture within a company that values expert vigilance and proactive defense.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity analysis and threat detection.
• Proven experience in leading a security analysis team or function.
• In-depth knowledge of SIEM tools and security event analysis.
• Familiarity with attack vectors, malware analysis, and forensic techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cybersecurity analysis team in monitoring security systems and detecting threats.
• Develop and refine incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Analyze security alerts and potential threats; escalate when needed.
• Manage and optimize security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Provide guidance on threat landscape and emerging attack vectors to stakeholders.
• Mentor and train junior cybersecurity analysts.
