Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking a Credit Analyst for a client in Johannesburg. The role involves gathering and analysing loan applicants' financial data to evaluate risk and assess creditworthiness for individuals, companies and institutions.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the credit committee to approve or decline finance, prepare and present credit reports, and ensure adherence to company regulations while updating credit rating criteria.

Qualifications

• Matric or higher degree in Business/Accounting/Finance/Credit Risk.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial modelling.
• Must have NCR, RE3 or RE5 certificates.
• Code 8 driver's license is required.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyses loan applicants' financial data to evaluate risk.
• Assesses creditworthiness of individuals, companies and institutions.
• Collaborates with credit committee to approve or decline finance.
• Makes recommendations about credit lines and terms.
• Performs risk analysis using regional, sector-specific and environmental data.
• Prepares and presents credit reports and conducts QA reviews.
• Communicates decisions and policies to staff and applicants.
• Ensures compliance with company regulations and document checks.
