Job summary

Network Contracting in Gauteng is seeking a Senior Credit Controller on a 3 months contract to lead the credit control function, drive collections and mentor a small team within a fast-paced operation.

Role focuses on improving cash flow, strong debtor management, and collaboration with sales and operations to resolve queries while ensuring accurate month-end processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in credit control or accounts receivable.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Freight/logistics industry experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of debt collection strategies and credit risk.
• Good reconciliations and customer account management knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full credit control function and ensure timely collection of outstanding debt.
• Lead and mentor the Credit Control team while monitoring performance.
• Manage customer accounts, reconciliations, credit limits and dispute resolution.
• Produce debtor reports, analyse ageing, and provide management recommendations.
• Review and approve new credit applications in line with policy.
• Reduce debtor days while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Collaborate with sales and operations to resolve account queries.
• Ensure month-end credit control processes are completed accurately and on time.

They are looking for a Senior Credit Controller on a 3 months contract basis to lead the credit control function, drive collections, improve cash flow, and mentor a small team while ensuring effective debtor management across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Credit Management qualification or relevant Finance qualification will be advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Freight, logistics, transport, cargo or related industry experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of debt collection strategies, reconciliations, customer account management, and credit risk.

Skills

• Experience working on Accpac/Sage 300.
• Exposure to Winfreight, Freight Easy or IVS will be advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
