Job summary

DRA Global in Johannesburg seeks a Senior Cost Controller to join the Project Controls team in Sunninghill. The role handles cost control, forecasting, reporting and analysis across complex EPCM mining projects.

Key duties include setting up cost control systems, budgeting, tracking actuals, preparing monthly reports and supporting earned value management. Collaboration with procurement, engineering and project teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a business-related discipline.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar cost control role within a multidisciplinary EPCM environment.
• Previous EPCM/mining experience.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and estimating.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and maintaining project cost control systems and coding structures.
• Managing project budgets, actual costs, commitments and forecasts.
• Preparing monthly cost reports, dashboards and forecasts.
• Analysing cost variances, trends, under-runs and overruns.
• Monitoring Final Forecast Cost, cash flow and project contingency.
• Reconciling procurement commitments against project costs.
• Supporting earned value management and progress measurement.
• Managing project changes and approved budget adjustments.
• Participating in monthly forecasting reviews with Project Managers, Engineers and Quantity Surveyors.
• Preparing EPCM invoicing and supporting cost information.
• Working closely with Procurement, Engineering, Estimating, Accounts and Project Management.
• Providing guidance and mentoring to Cost Controllers where required.

DRA Global is looking for an experienced Senior Cost Controller to join our Project Controls team in Sunninghill. This is an opportunity to work across complex multidisciplinary EPCM projects within the mining environment, taking ownership of project cost control, forecasting, reporting and analysis.

The role will include:

• Setting up and maintaining project cost control systems and coding structures
• Managing project budgets, actual costs, commitments and forecasts
• Preparing monthly cost reports, dashboards and forecasts
