Job summary

Fruitways is seeking a Construction Site Manager for the Grabouw packaging services unit to lead the Refrigerated Storage facility project. Based at the Molteno site, you will coordinate with project teams, consultants and contractors for an 8-month construction period.

You will ensure client specifications and health and safety standards are met, manage daily progress, monitor environmental impacts and report on site activities to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Construction management experience is essential.
• Ability to interpret drawings and diagrams.
• Experience with cold storage construction is advantageous.
• Strong organising and planning skills; excellent communication.
• Attention to detail and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and oversee project direction to meet client specifications.
• Keep the project team updated on daily progress.
• Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Manage activities impacting the environment and implement guidelines.
• Control site access and report incidents.
• Record daily site activities, personnel and equipment.
• Report unsafe practices to the H&S Officer immediately.
• Check and observe activities as requested by the project team.
• Record and verify quantities measured on site.
• Attend and participate in site meetings.
