Job summary

Fruitways, a leading agri-business in South Africa, seeks a proactive and well-organized individual to manage cold store operations in the Villiersdorp area. You will ensure accurate inventory control across receiving, storage and dispatch of bulk bins while upholding RA and CA storage protocols.

The role requires 5–8 years in cold store operations, a Grade 12/NQF4, and preferably a refrigeration certificate.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / NQF4 required, while a relevant refrigeration certificate will be preferred.
• 5-8 years’ experience in cold store operations and/or a refrigeration environment
• Understanding of CA management within the pome industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Good judgement and decision-making ability
• Driver’s licence and own transport

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage cold store operations to maintain accurate inventory control (receiving, storage and dispatch of bulk bins)
• Ensure all fruit is handled and stored in accordance with provided RA and CA storage protocols
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for refrigeration equipment and cold store facilities
• Monitor cold store performance, investigate any deviations and escape issues to QA and Engineering as required
• Lead and develop the cold store team
• Ensure correct working methods and procedures are adhered to with regards to personnel safety and food safety (OHS & BRC)

The company has an exciting career opportunity for a proactive and well-organized individual who will ensure the effective and efficient management of cold store operations and maintaining storage protocols. The successful candidate will be based in the Villiersdorp area and will report directly to the General Manager.
