Job summary

Raubex Building Cape seeks a Safety Officer in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role reports to the Safety Manager, partnering with Site Management to ensure health and safety compliance across the site. A 3-month probation applies; immediate start is preferred.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and coordinating safety campaigns. Requires CHSO/Nebosh or SAMTRAC and 5–10 years in construction safety with OHSA experience.

Qualifications

• SAMTRAC or Safety management Diploma/NEBOSH certification required.
• CHSO SACPCMP registration (CHSO) is essential.
• 5–10 years of construction safety experience.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word/Excel).
• HIRA, incident investigation and first aid certificates are advantageous.
• UHSA/OHSA compliance background is preferred.
• Weekend work flexibility may be required.
• Driver’s license code 8.

Responsibilities

• Edit, review and implement safety policies, plans and procedures.
• Coordinate and participate in incident investigations.
• Lead emergency drills and maintain preparedness.
• Produce audit reports and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and implement site safety campaigns.
• Conduct site-specific risk assessments and advise on safety metrics.
• Report incidents to the Group HSE system and submit monthly reports.
• Organise SHE committee, look-ahead and safety meetings.
