Placements24 is seeking a Lead Construction Manager to oversee major projects in George, Western Cape. You will direct all construction operations, manage budgets, and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery from inception to completion.

The role requires a strong track record in large-scale projects, exceptional leadership, and the ability to build client and stakeholder relationships while driving efficiency and profitability on site.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management software.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
• Based in or willing to relocate to George, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of construction operations, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Oversee site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
• Lead and mentor site teams, including project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Implement and enforce quality control procedures throughout the construction process.
• Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
• Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting project status, key milestones, and any deviations from the plan.
• Ensure efficient utilization of materials, equipment, and labor to maximize project profitability.
