Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager for a Durban-based, respected financial services group. You will oversee and enhance the regulatory compliance framework to ensure FSCA and related bodies' adherence, lead the compliance function, conduct risk assessments, and develop policies across business units.

The role requires strong analytical skills, proven leadership, and the ability to foster a proactive, compliant culture within a hybrid work setup in KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• Law degree or a relevant qualification in Finance, Business Administration, or Compliance.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations (e.g., FAIS Act, FICA, POPIA, Companies Act).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks and policies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
• Experience in managing regulatory relationships and examinations is essential.
• Professional certifications such as CCO or equivalent are highly regarded.
• Proficiency in compliance management software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program aligned with South African financial regulations.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
• Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees across various departments.
