Placements24 is seeking a diligent Legal Counsel with a specialty in Compliance to join their established legal team in Mossel Bay. You will develop and oversee the company’s compliance programs, assess regulatory changes, and lead audits to mitigate risk, while guiding staff on ethical conduct.

The role requires an Admitted Attorney with 5+ years in compliance or regulatory law, strong governance knowledge, and the ability to engage with regulators and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court with at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in compliance or regulatory law.
• Strong understanding of South African corporate governance, compliance frameworks, and relevant legislation.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures across the organization.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements, assessing their impact on the company.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
