Placements24 seeks a knowledgeable Legal Counsel specializing in Corporate Compliance to join our client in Benoni. You will develop, implement, and manage the company’s compliance programs, conduct risk assessments, and guide multiple departments to meet regulatory standards.

You will liaise with regulators and auditors, stay current on South African legislation, and foster an ethical corporate culture throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate compliance and regulatory law.
• Strong understanding of South African corporate governance and data protection.
• Experience developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex legal requirements.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• High level of integrity and ethical conduct.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's corporate compliance program.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential non-compliance.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters and ethical conduct.
• Stay abreast of changes in relevant legislation and regulations impacting operations.
