Job summary

Placements24 in George is seeking a knowledgeable Commercial Underwriter to join our expanding insurance team. You will assess risk, set terms, and price commercial policies, working closely with brokers to tailor solutions that fit client needs while protecting profitability.

With a minimum of four years’ underwriting experience, you will monitor portfolios, maintain regulatory compliance, and collaborate with claims and actuarial teams to refine pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of property, casualty, and liability products.
• Ability to interpret financial statements and risk data.
• Proven broker relationship-building skills.
• Professional qualifications such as ACII or CIP are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate commercial insurance applications to assess risk exposure accurately.
• Determine policy terms, conditions, and pricing based on risk and guidelines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents, providing technical guidance.
• Monitor performance of assigned portfolios and suggest strategic adjustments.
