Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in commercial lines underwriting.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products (property, casualty, professional indemnity).
• Professional designations such as FLMI or ACII are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite complex commercial insurance risks, including property, casualty, and specialty lines.
• Analyze financial statements, business operations, and market conditions to assess risk exposure.
• Determine appropriate policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and pricing to ensure profitability and competitive positioning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents, providing expert underwriting advice and support.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior underwriters, fostering their professional development and underwriting expertise.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting strategies and product offerings.
