Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Legal Advisor in the commercial litigation arena to join its established legal department in Tembisa. The role focuses on managing disputes, providing strategic litigation guidance to senior management, and safeguarding the company’s legal and financial interests.

The candidate will lead case management, coordinate with external counsel, and drive proactive risk mitigation while upholding the firm’s reputation for integrity in handling complex legal challenges.

Qualifications

• Qualified legal practitioner with at least 5 years of experience in commercial litigation.
• In-depth knowledge of South African civil procedure and evidence law.
• Proven track record of managing complex litigation matters.
• Strong advocacy and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Represent the company in court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Advise business units on potential litigation risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel and manage their work effectively.
• Analyze case strengths and weaknesses to advise on settlement strategies.
