Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney or Advocate with at least 9 years post-qualification experience in commercial litigation.
• Proven track record of managing high-value commercial disputes.
• In-depth knowledge of South African civil procedure and commercial law.
• Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead matters remotely.
• Strong communication and client advisory skills for interaction with executives in Sandton.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of commercial litigation, including dispute resolution, arbitration, and mediation.
• Develop and implement legal strategies for complex matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare opinions.
• Draft pleadings, applications, affidavits, and other court documents.
• Represent the company in courts and ADR proceedings.
• Collaborate with external counsel and provide oversight.
• Advise senior management on risks and mitigation related to litigation.
