About the Role

You will be instrumental in guiding clients through challenging legal matters, from initial case assessment to resolution, whether through settlement or trial. Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception to conclusion.


• Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and develop effective litigation strategies.


• Draft pleadings, motions, applications, and other court documents with precision.


• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings.


• Conduct examinations of witnesses and manage discovery processes.


• Provide clear and strategic legal advice to clients on dispute resolution.


• Liaise effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.


• Supervise and mentor junior legal professionals and support staff.


• Stay abreast of legislative changes and legal precedents affecting commercial litigation.


• Contribute to the development of the litigation practice group and business development efforts.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 7 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation.


• Demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex commercial disputes.


• Excellent understanding of civil procedure and evidence law.


• Exceptional analytical, drafting, and advocacy skills.


• Proven ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload.


• Strong client relationship management skills.


• Commitment to ethical practice and professional integrity.


• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.


• Fluency in English and Afrikaans is advantageous.


• Experience in specific industry sectors relevant to the George region is a plus.
