Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead coastal and maritime projects in East London. You will design breakwaters, jetties, seawalls and port infrastructure, with oversight of planning, drawings and calculations.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a coastal/maritime focus, 7+ years of relevant experience, and Pr. Eng registration with ECSA. Proficiency in Mike 21 and Delft3D is preferred, along with strong communication and management skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with coastal or maritime focus.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA is required.
• Minimum 7 years designing coastal/maritime structures.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyse coastal and maritime structures, considering wave action and currents.
• Prepare drawings, calculations and specifications for marine projects.
• Conduct site investigations, bathymetric surveys and EIAs.
• Manage project execution, including supervision and budget control.
• Ensure compliance with design codes, standards and environmental regs.
• Collaborate with clients and regulators across engineering disciplines.
