Job summary

Ikwezi Mining (Pty) Ltd seeks an experienced On-Site Transport Operations Manager to supervise daily mine transport activities, manage contractor fleets, and enforce MHSA safety standards. You will coordinate with multiple teams to ensure efficient loading, hauling, and weighing processes while maintaining strict compliance and incident reporting.

The role requires strong leadership, on-site supervision, and proven ability to optimise cycle times and reduce delays in a high‑risk mining

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mining, Logistics or related field (advantageous).
• Minimum 58 years mining experience (load & haul / transport).
• At least 3 years supervising on-site transport or contractors at a mine.
• Valid Drivers License.

Responsibilities

• On-Site Transport Operations Management - supervise and coordinate daily transport activities at the mine.
• Directly manage contractor trucks, drivers, and supervisors on-site.
• Enforce MHSA compliance and safety standards; conduct daily safety briefings and inspections.
• Coordinate with load & haul, production, plant, and weighbridge teams to align with plans.
• Ensure accurate tonnage control at the weighbridge and prevent over/under loading.
• Monitor contractor KPIs: cycle times, tons moved per shift, truck availability, queue times.
• Compile shift and daily reports on production, delays, and contractor performance.
