• Hands-on with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).

About the Role

Our client, a leading enterprise IT solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructures. This role is crucial in guiding our client's digital transformation journey, helping them leverage the full potential of cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. You will be responsible for architecting cloud solutions, defining best practices, and providing technical leadership to engineering teams. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in cloud computing principles, infrastructure as code, containerization, and network security. This position is based in Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA, and requires a strong technical acumen coupled with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can translate business requirements into robust and cost-effective cloud architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive cloud solutions on platforms such as AWS and Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Develop architectural blueprints, standards, and best practices for cloud deployments.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Lead the migration of existing on-premises infrastructure and applications to the cloud.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Configure and manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Ensure robust network security, identity and access management, and data protection within the cloud environment.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services to enhance existing solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide timely resolutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and implementation (AWS and/or Azure).
• Proven experience designing and deploying large-scale cloud environments.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud networking, storage, compute, and database services.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of security best practices in the cloud.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
