About the Role

Our client, a leading enterprise software provider, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join their innovative team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This critical role involves designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on platforms like AWS and Azure. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-level cloud solutions on AWS and/or Azure platforms.
• Develop and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Ensure cloud solutions are secure, highly available, fault-tolerant, and cost-optimized.
• Collaborate with development teams to define application requirements and design cloud-native solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on cloud best practices and emerging technologies.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
• Lead the migration of on-premises workloads to the cloud.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies.
• Mentor junior cloud engineers and operations staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and implementation.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, Azure VMs, Azure SQL Database, Azure AD).
• Proven experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management principles in cloud environments.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a significant advantage.
• Experience within the Stellenbosch area or a strong desire to relocate is preferred.
