Job summary

Ikue, a technology scale-up focused on AI/ML powered analytics, is seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to bridge cloud architecture and rapid software delivery. You will shape and automate a scalable AWS environment using Terraform, CDK, and CloudFormation, and own CI/CD pipelines.

You will manage AWS Landing Zones, multi-account setups, and secure backup strategies, optimize costs (FinOps), and collaborate with developers to ensure high reliability. South African applicants only.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps experience with at least 3 years on AWS.
• Deep proficiency in Terraform.
• Extensive Docker and ECS experience.
• Ability to manage Landing Zones, multi-account structures, and Well-Architected reviews.
• Self-starter with drive to deliver technically excellent solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect and automate a stable, scalable AWS environment with Terraform, CDK, and CloudFormation.

We are looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer who can bridge the gap between cloud architecture and high-velocity software delivery.

In this role, you will:

• Architect & Automate: Build and maintain a stable, scalable AWS environment using Terraform, CDK, and CloudFormation.

• Pipeline Refinement: Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless, automated software delivery.

• Cloud Governance: Maintain and improve our AWS Landing Zone, manage multi-account structures, and oversee secure backup strategies.

• Orchestration: Manage container orchestration via ECS and integrate serverless components like Lambda, EventBridge, and Step Functions.

• Operational Excellence: Perform Well-Architected Reviews, implement cloud best practices, and lead cost-optimization (FinOps) initiatives.

• Collaborate & Resolve: Work side-by-side with developers to troubleshoot performance issues and respond to incidents, ensuring high system reliability.
